[ He followed her instructions and inhaled, feeling more than a little weird about the texture of the 'smoke' in his mouth, which turned out not to be smoke at all- it was vapor, hence the name 'vape' he supposed. He tried not to linger too long, heeding her warning, then closed his eyes as he let it sink in. ]

Thanks, girl. [ His smile was crooked as he offered it back to her. It wasn't long after that he began to feel it sink in and he sighed as all of his muscles began to melt into relaxation. ]

Shit... I needed that.

[ She grins as she watches him, excited to see how it might hit him and if he enjoys it.] Bad flight? Or just first flight jitters?

I think just first flight jitters because I don't really know what a bad flight feels like. I mean, as long as we don't crash it's a good one, right? [ He laughed a little, soft and low as he went ahead and laid back on her bed, torso stretched out enough that his tank top rode up to expose a hint of his toned belly, long legs still bent over the edge. He was starting to feel light-headed in the best way possible. ]

Mm... shit. I think I was on four different planes, and I kept freaking out because I thought they'd figure out my passport was fake. And I've never slept alone in my entire life so I was tired but I couldn't relax. Damn, this is so much better.

Your passport was fake? [ She looks at him with a renewed interest that has nothing to do with his exposed stomach. Why was his passport fake? ]

Uh huh. But I'm a runaway omega, so my pack didn't help me get a passport or anything. They never would've let me leave. I had to apply to the school and get all my shit together without them knowing. And I had to lie about my age on my passport because I'm seventeen, but I couldn't wait any longer because once you turn eighteen my pack you have to start breeding and I turn eighteen in December.

It's this whole mess, sorry I don't mean to dump it on you or anything, it's just a lot. [ It helped that he felt high, and that he could trust her. It unblocked all his filters. ]

[ Charlie understood pack dynamics, although her pack was a lot less.... primitive than his sounded it. She didn't have to start "birthin' babies" when she turned eighteen, she had options. But it helped that her pack had been old and well established, she guessed. Maybe his was one of the newer ones, looking to build their numbers. That or they were super old school.

It wasn't nice to ask so she didn't.]

It's okay, I wouldn't have asked if I didn't care. [ She looks at him for a moment.] My pack had to splinter. We had hunters on our asses and after my mom got killed, my dad moved us away from them. He sent me and my brother here to be safe. [ And safe from the rumored selkie run apocolypse. ]

Thanks. [ He replied softly, his bangs almost completely over his eyes as he tilted his head to look at her better, grin crooked. Then it faded away. ]

Shit, I'm sorry about your mom. Werewolf hunters? I didn't even know they were a real thing. I always thought my pack was just trying to scare me to keep me close. Fuck... that sucks.

[ She shrugs a little but the look on her face contradicts the nonchalant gesture to show the pain that's just beneath the surface.]

It was a long time ago but yeah, ever since my dad became like this psycho paranoid guy, convinced that they were going to get us. But coming here was supposed to be the last resort so he could get back with the pack. [ She takes another small hit of the vape.]

Turns out it was the best thing to happen in a long time.

I guess I can't blame him for going psycho when he lose his mate, but for you... for you it's like losing both your parents, huh?

[ He felt a heaviness in his chest, then swallowed and tried to ignore the sting in his eyes. He really felt for her situation. ]

I'm sorry, Charlie. It's cool you're here 'n that you got a guy you care about, that's really cool. But that still sucks.

Yeah. [ Her mouth twists and she offers him the vape as if that might be the balm to both of their pain, whatever it may be. Glancing towards the TV, she lets out a breath.]

I'm an omega too. [ Her father's sister was the alpha now and her father's brother was the beta, her father wasn't ranked any higher in the pack than that. ]

Heeeey. [ That made his smile back, crooked and pleased as he reached out to lightly brush his knuckles against the back of her arm. Then he takes the offered vape. ]

Omega pride. I knew there was a reason I liked you. [ He took a slow hit, then groaned softly to himself. ] Shit, I like that.

[ She smirks at that, at his crooked grin and then again, wider, at the way he reacts to the pot.]

It's good, right? [ She moves to lay back on the bed too.] So... movie? Or Netflix?

And chill? [ His chuckle was soft and breathy, he was being naughty and he knew it. ]

I'm good with anything. You're in charge.

[ She snorts and rolls her eyes good-naturedly. ] Nope. [ She drags herself off the bed to put in Planet Earth into the BluRay because... obviously.]

So have you met anyone else?

Met my roomie, wolf named Logan, he's brand new like me. Hit up a bunch of the mythrs, had some good convos with Wyatt and Maddie, you know them? There was a cutie named Charlie, [ he winked. ] a hottie named Nevaeh, nice wolf named Connor... 'n a few others.

I've only met you and Logan in person so far.

[ She'd nodded when he asked if she knew Wyatt and Maddie, she knew them both. But she lets out a stifled laugh soon after--] Nev is my aunt.

[ That made him laugh a little louder. ] Oh man, you got the goods on her now. Don't tell her I told you! Just curious, how much older is the guy you're with? Because Nev's profile said she was twenty-eight which means she's eleven years older than me.

Yeah, well, don't tell anyone that I'm dating the older guy and we'll be even. [ This is how rumors start, Charlie. But she won't mention he's a teacher, at least. Or who he is.

She sits on the bed as the movie starts but the volume isn't loud and she's paying more attention to him than it. It's background noise and that's fine.]

He and I are only eight years apart.

I promise. Hey, we omegas gotta stick together right? [ It was like an unwritten law! ]

Shit yeah you can, you're an omega. Here's the problem with alphas like your aunt, no offense 'cause I don't know her that well yet, but the overall attitude is that omegas are weak. But we're the backbone of the pack and they go crazy without us. Who's the weak ones then?

Yup, just background. ] Packs just want us to think that we need to lean on them, but they're leaning on us and we're supporting them all the way. That makes us super strong. [ As he speaks she moves to reach under her bed to pull out a bag of flaming hot Cheetos because Charlie is a basic bitch at heart, pulling it open and offering some to him first.] Careful, you're sound like rather revolutionary.

That's why I'm here, girl. [ He smiled wider as he took a few cheetos and popped them into his mouth. They tasted like the best thing he'd ever eaten in his entire life and on one level he knew that was because of the weed, but damn they tasted so good. He groaned a little as he licked the powder from his thumb. ]

I'm gonna turn the wolf world upside-down. I'm gonna remind all the omegas how powerful they are and we're going to be the ones in charge someday. No more of this fighting-for-dominance bullshit anymore, it's time to get with the times. Brute strength doesn't get you anywhere nowadays, and bullying the people at the bottom isn't how you stay on top.
